Coke brought Surge soda back for a brief glimmer of an instant. It was my favorite soda when I was in junior high. I drank so much of it my insides probably glowed under blacklight.
Serge, the character, might be an homage (ret-conned)? Do you pronounce it "ser-GAY" or "Surge"? I've heard it both ways. Not sure which I prefer.
Perhaps the pronunciation of Serge depends on nationality. I think Russians pronounce it with two syllables, though the version I heard was SER-gay.
