If someone floods the country with currency (in this case: Gold), it triggers an inflation that’s not to be trifled with and before you know it, you’ve got the situation of the Weimar Republic, where a loaf of bread cost one million Reichsmark.
That also explains, why he isn’t getting rid of the bird…you just don’t roast the goose that lays golden eggs…but it doesn’t explain, why he needs to keep it in his throne room…and what’s the deal with that ring anyway?
