I once heard a story, when the creative heads at Disney came together to talk about the movie they were going to make, when ol’ Walt himself came in and asked: ‘Did anyone actually read the book?’
Lots of embarrassed faces, however the real punchline’s yet to come.
Supposedly Walt said: ‘Alright, do me a favor and don’t start. Let’s make a happy movie instead.’
And what to say, they sure pulled through with the theme.
But yeah, I was talking about Disney’s Pocahontas.
