So like, we have to suffer because you're a poor judge of character?
Yes, she could have used some rando's life force, but it would have been less of a Gesture(tm), and I think Cerwyn is a bit melodramatic also.

Hmm…I will admit that this was a little unexpected.
And regarding the ‘poor judge of characters’…well, it’s a cold and unforgiving world…besides, assuming this happened shortly after him waking up again, she had already lost him before he went to war.
But yeah, a broken heart tends to cloud morals and reason sufficiently…which begs the question, if the snake knew of the affair between her beloved and the maid.
Yeah, jealousy really is a snake with a most terrible and venomous bite. It kills you from the inside out, leaving nothing but an empty husk of what you once used to be without you even noticing.
I feel I should clarify that the dude was not in a coma or anything, he was just bedridden and very weak, so he’s asleep alot. He did fall for the nurse after his injury, who tended to him very kindly and diligently because Cerwyn was too busy off learning dark magic to visit him often XD (plus their relationship maybe was a bit one sided to begin with)
It’s Cerwyn telling the story though so she’s a bit of an unreliable narrator in terms of her own role in things.
I wonder if Sasha’s jealousy will come into play too….
